Education
I graduated from Concordia University of Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2001 with a Bachelor of Art and Lutheran Teacher Diploma. My majors were in Elementary Education and Physical Education. Besides attending teacher workshops, I participate in continuing education courses at Ottawa University of Kansas and Baker University of Overland Park, Kansas.
Experience
Currently I hold a Kansas Board of Education Professional License and certification in First Aid and CPR. I taught a half year as a 7th and 8th grade teacher at Grace Lutheran Elementary in Kansas City, Kansas. Twelve years were spent as a 5th and 6th grade classroom teacher and 5th through 8th grade physical education teacher at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Marysville, Kansas. While I taught at Good Shepherd, I did 2 years of after school math tutoring. A little over a year was spent as a short term and long term substitute teacher for Marysville, Valley Heights, and Hanover schools. Currently I serve as a teacher's aid and teach a few keyboarding classes at USD 223 Hanover. It is a joy to see children understand new concepts through the use of hands-on learning, real-world connections, and technology.

Hobbies
Outdoor activities and cooking are a passion of mine while helping out on the family farm. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, exercising, playing card games, and completing art projects. My family make an annual trip to Montana to visit my parents and an occasional trip to Kansas City to watch the Royals in action. I have been volunteering as a recreational soccer coach and creating educational webpages these last couple of years.
